The Root & Rise Philosophy

We’re not here to judge your goals or your experiences in your career thus far. We’re here to help you get clear on where you’ve been and where you want to be. Our approach is client-centered. We guide you through the process of identifying exactly what you want your career to look like and how it should fit into your life. Once your career vision is set, we create a plan of how you’re going to reach that dream career.

Whether you’re looking for a way to work part-time, transition from home back into the workforce, work exclusively remotely, make a career out of PRN and temp positions, or become a boss b*tch, we’re here for you. It doesn’t matter if you’re still in undergrad or looking for post-retirement gig.

You do not have to navigate your career alone. We are here to support all dietitians in creating careers that support lives they love. The world of nutrition needs your passion and your talent. There is too much work to be done. Don’t waste any more time wandering through your career or wondering what could be.

Registered Dietitian, Dietetics Educator, Course Creator, and Writer

I spent the first 3 years of my career as a dietitian wondering how it was possible to have worked so hard for something only to feel relatively uninspired. Truth be told, I didn’t know what to do or who to talk to about it and I contemplated leaving nutrition all together more times than I would have ever admitted back then (approximately 4, seriously).

I’ve spent the past 7 years precepting dietetic interns, and teaching nutrition and dietetics in higher education. I’ve discovered a passion for teaching, coaching, and mentoring (yes, those are all different things) both current and future dietitians.

With a little luck and a lot of work, I found my way out of the career funk that almost drove me out of this field. I’ve created Root and Rise Academy to do the same for you.

Want to become a Root & Rise Intern or join the team as a paid position?

That’s right, right now this is a one-woman show! We will be growing soon though. As we grow we’re committed to supporting the field of dietetics in every way. That means we’re going to be employing dietitians, dietetic students, and dietetic interns whenever possible. Fill in your information below to be the first to know when we’re looking to expand!
